Flights of Fancy: the feathered headpieces trends

Some people really love feathers. It's some kind of natural beauty; the compendia of a numerousness of hues brought together in vibrant patterns governed by nature... all for attracting a man. Just think about the the peacock's style and grace and you will see what it means. Well, the feather trend has been creeping up on catwalks since Winter 2009, and its about time we all took a flight of fancy!

One of the easiest ways to wear the feather trend is as part of headpieces. With a choice between a cute array on dainty slides or skinny alice bands with shoots of feathers coming off, it doesn't take a lot of daring to pull it off. Then there's the next step, for the truly fashion obsessed: the headband.

The headband craze sweeping modern bohemia loves their feathered things. Now headbands can be found made with natural feathers on websites that make unique designs, or in high street chains like Accessorize who specialise in fascinators adorned with them. Think Peaches Geldof and Nicole Richie and you will not be far off in emulating what I'm describing.

If you are brave you can go for the headdress look a la Erin Wasson at Chanel. Wasson looks like a modern day Tiger Lily, conjuring up images of exotic elegance and fun. The headdress brings a playful touch to her otherwise innocent, pure white ensemble.

Feathers have appeared on clothes too, but be prepared for a more grown up look here. For Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009, feather-trimmed coats at Burberry Prorsum and Donna Karen gave a Russian, Dr. Zhivago feel. Feathers also appeared on evening dresses and pencil skirts at Blumarine and Christian Lacroix. This look harks back to the decadence of the roaring twenties and flapper dresses, and ties in with the fringing trend so big on the catwalks in Spring/Summer 2009. Who is not ready to grow up yet, stick with dressing up; and the most stylish way of doing this for the present is with feathers.

The Most Fashionable Trends 2009

When spring is coming, maybe it’s time that we update our wardrobes a little bit. Well, here will be the hottest spring fashion trends that may help you in your spring shopping.

Top designers have done their jobs… it’s our turn to do ours! (Yey!) Let’s make sure that the streets are filled with fashionable women with fabulous spring style this season! ;)

Invest in a good coat that you will look good in… If you have a chance to buy a designer piece, go for it! A good French or Italian wool coat will last you three years minimum and you’ll be seen wearing it most of the time! So you will definitely get the money worth it, even if the coat will cost you around $1.000!

In terms of colors, black, brown and gray are the traditional hues for spring coats and you will see these colors on most women, but if you truly want to stand out from the winter crowd, a little attitude won’t hurt.

Venture in bright plaids, animal prints, pinks, reds, or go all white (or beige) for a fabulous spring look that will pop. I know, the dry cleaning bill will be huge (if you go white), but it will be worth every single penny!
